Project Description

Schatz is a ketch rigged twin screw motor sailor built in Antalya in 2006. The main refit work on Schatz was started in December 2012 and she was delivered at the end of May 2013. Prior to this a minor refit was conducted at the start of the the 2012 summer on her battery systems and the fire fighting system.

The refit work conducted on Schatz was extensive and included major work such as, making new engine room and collision bulkheads which were watertight, a complete new teak decking, topsides where faired then cladded in sapelli wood & woven glassfibre covered then with international perfection plus varnish, a bar was designed and installed on the aft deck, topside windows were modified and new tempered windows were placed, the steel masts were removed and new aluminium masts were manufactured, 2 new generators, new exhausts systems and shafts were installed, a complete re-arrangement of the engine room was conducted with new insulation and alluminium panelling, the original concrete which had been poured into the bilge was removed all rotten wood was replaced and new 3 component sika compound was filled, all tanks apart from the fuel tanks were replaced with new polyethylene tanks and the entire plumbing was re-done, new showers, toilets and pumps were installed, the interior floors were re-varnished and the walls were touched up where necessary, all the chrome on the yacht was polished, the exterior of the boat was completely re-painted and re-varnished. Other minor modifications were also carried out on the yacht during the refit process.
